LEADERSHIP
Founding Artistic Director, Lean & Hungry Theater, Washington, DC, 2006 – 2016
Lean & Hungry Theater created accessible, modern audio adaptations of classic works of drama and literature. Lean & Hungry produced 17 shows (including 13 live broadcasts and 15 original adaptations), 7 fundraising events, and several custom education workshops and appearances. As founding artistic director, my responsibilities included:

Lean & Hungry produced 17 shows (including 13 live broadcasts and 15 original adaptations), 7 fundraising events, and several custom education workshops and appearances. As founding artistic director, my responsibilities included:
- Providing artistic, strategic, and financial leadership of the organization and day-to-day management and oversight of the operations
- Managing up to 30 staff and artists
- Overseeing annual and production budgets
- Collaborating with and guiding directors, composers, and sound designers in creating adaptations in Lean & Hungry’s established style
- Scouting, developing, training, and fostering the core acting company, staff, and artistic associates, including casting associates and interns
- Developing and expanding artistic and strategic partnerships, with organizations including ArtiSphere, The National Federation of the Blind, the USO, and The National Society of Arts and Letters
- Promoting the organization’s mission and brand with public appearances, speeches, and media interviews
- Envisioning and overseeing implementation of marketing and publicity: manage PR and Marketing staff, designers, and production of marketing pieces
- Cultivating a growing and active Board of Directors with diverse skill sets and proven credentials
- Devising and implementing strategies for major and individual donor initiatives, corporate sponsorships, and foundation funding
- Developing the nonprofit’s annual budget and resource development plan
- Establishing and maintain vendor relationships
