Jessica Hansen is the voice of NPR's funding credits, and serves as in-house voice coach at NPR headquarters. She coaches voice for NPR, member stations, corporate groups, executives, professional theater companies, as well as hosts, journalists, and private clients nationwide.

Ms Hansen began acting at age 5, and was a cast member of a tween TV series at 12. Ms Hansen has performed Guest Star roles on NBC’s Parks & Recreation and HBO’s Veep, working with Amy Poehler and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, respectively. She has performed on stages across the country and in dozens of commercials and independent and industrial films. 

Ms Hansen has taught children and adults of all ages: from Shakespeare to musical theater to microphone and audition techniques.  She has taught throughout the Washington metropolitan area, including the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and American University. 

Ms Hansen co-founded Lean & Hungry Theater, which creates a podcast and audio adaptations of Shakespeare and other classics to support teachers and students in the classroom, and to make high-quality theatre accessible to everyone. 

Ms Hansen earned her MFA in Acting from Brandeis University, and has studied Alexander, Linklater, LeCoq, Stanislawski, Michael Checkhov, Meisner, Roy Hart, Suzuki, Viewpoints, and many other voice, acting, and movement techniques.

Ms Hansen has served on the Mills College Alumnae Steering Committee, the Brandeis University Alumni Board's  Washington, DC chapter Arts Committee, and the National Society of Arts and Letters.  Ms Hansen has been a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild since 2005.
