You know her work

With recent appearances in the Oscar-nominated film, Tar, and as a guest star on NBC’s Parks & Recreation and HBO’s Veep, working with Amy Poehler and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jessica Hansen is increasingly familiar to audiences. For 8 years she was the Voice of NPR's sponsorship credits. Jessica began her career as a child and was an ensemble member of a tween TV series at 12. She has performed on stages across the country and in dozens of commercials and independent and industrial films. 

Sharing her talents through teaching

From Shakespeare and musical theater to microphone and audition techniques, she has taught throughout the Washington metropolitan area, including at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and American University.

Ms Hansen co-founded Lean & Hungry Theater, which creates a podcast and audio adaptations of Shakespeare and other classics to support teachers and students in the classroom, and to make high-quality theater accessible to everyone.

Classically trained and experienced


Jessica Hansen holds an MFA from Brandeis University, and has studied Alexander, Linklater, LeCoq, Stanislawski, Michael Checkhov, Meisner, Roy Hart, Suzuki, Viewpoints, and many other voice, acting, and movement techniques.​
​

Ms Hansen has served on the Brandeis University Alumni Board's  Washington, DC chapter Arts Committee, the National Society of Arts and Letters, and the Mills College Alumnae Steering Committee.  Ms Hansen has been a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild since 2005.
